Technical Presentations and Exhibitions will be held at the Marina Bay Sand Expo and Convention Centre. Easy to access using MRT, this facility is located right next to the famous Marina Bay Sand hotel, a symbol of Singapore. By registering to IPFA you will be entitled to book a room at a discount rate. Be sure to check frequently our website for updates!
This year again IPFA is hosted by the city-state and there are so many reasons why you should consider to present your work in the land once known as Temasek! Beside, obviously, a quality exchange of technical and scientific content and networking, Singapore has many things to offer and here are a couple of them.
Singapore a Multicultural City
While visiting City Hall, Arab Street, Chinatown or Little India, you will experience some of the different cultures which are parts of Singapore DNA. The boom in economic development attracted people from all around the world, making the city a rich melting pot. By walking all around the city, you will enjoy a very unique experience in each neighborhood. If you are a museum enthusiast, the Asian Civilization Museum will teach a bit of asian History through collections from all around Asia. If you prefer Arts, the National Gallery should fit you.
Makan! Makan! Makan!
Makan is a malay word for eating. Food brings everybody together and is part of the local heritage. Singapore offers a wide range of places to enjoy locals and overseas delights. From hawker centers and coffee shops to fine dining restaurant with Michelin star chef, you will always find something to feed you. If Singapore restaurants are famous for their Chili or Black Pepper Crabs and other seafood dishes, try to a have a taste of some Michelin star Chicken rice, Roti Prata or Ayam Penyet. One tip about Singapore: If you see a long queue, the food should worth the wait!
A Green City
If you follow our first advice and walk all around the city, you may be surprise but how green the island can be. Singapore is not just a jungle of concrete and tall glass building. If you are a nature lover, be sure to stop by Botanic Garden, a UNESCO heritage garden or visit MacRitchie Reservoir to try to spot some of the wildlife of Singapore. If you are more interested in international species, Singapore Zoo is the place to go. The two domes of Garden by the Bay will also offer you some unique experience. These are just some examples and we would be more than happy to share with you some more places of interest.
Chill at One of the Many Resorts in Singapore and Enjoy Nightlife
Once the conference is over, you may want to relax and chill a bit. If you stay at Marina Bay Sand, a national symbol, this is the best time to enjoy its unique infinity pool. You can also explore Sentosa Island to discover some of the resorts and theme parks such as the SEA aquarium or Universal Studio Park. At night, we advised you to head for Clarque Quay or Haji Lane to listen to some live music while having a nice drink. Depending on the season, free- live performances can also be spotted on Esplanade. Be sure to check the program online!
In one word like in thousands, there are plenty of things to do and enjoy in Singapore! We do believe that venue is a non trivial parameter when selecting a conference where to submit your work. For all the reasons above and many others, be sure to submit your work to IPFA 2020!
